I love an early bedtime for so many reasons. Here are just a few.
Overtired-
An early bedtime significantly reduces the likelihood of your little one becoming overtired, which in turn makes it much easier for them to drift off into a peaceful sleep. It can also prevent some night waking.
Best sleep –
A child’s most restorative sleep typically occurs during the first sleep cycle, which usually happens between 7 PM to 10:30 or 11 PM. We want them to get as much of that sleep as possible.
Early mornings-
Another fantastic benefit of an early bedtime is its positive impact on morning sleep duration. When a child goes to bed well-rested, rather than overtired, they are more likely to sleep in a bit longer in the morning, allowing everyone to enjoy a more leisurely start to the day.
Parents too –
Lastly, an early bedtime provides me with a precious window of opportunity to relax, unwind, and indulge in some much-needed “me-time.” It’s a chance to recharge and rejuvenate, which ultimately benefits both my child and you.
The advantages of an early bedtime are many, I wholeheartedly recommend aiming for a bedtime between 6 PM and 7 PM for your child.
I’m curious, what time does your child typically head to bed?
