Toddlers can fight sleep for a number of reason. Here they are………………
Firstly lest establish what a toddler is, I regard a toddler from 18 months to 3 years of age.
⭐If they have started getting upset at sleep time they could have some separation anxiety. This is normal around this age. Offer some comfort to reassure.
⭐Toddlers can have a fear of the dark. They may benefit from a small night light.
⭐ Toddlers can fight sleep if they are getting too much day sleep. If they aren’t tired at bedtime it can be an indicator they need a shorter lunch sleep.
⭐Testing boundaries. Toddlers are learning what a boundary is and how they work. They may benefit from some boundaries around bedtime such as book, drink, cuddle and bed.
